Residential properties run on first impressions. Lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and exterior walkways set the tone for how residents and visitors experience a community every single day. This porter role at Comstock's Reston, VA location keeps those spaces clean, safe, and presentable across a consistent weekday and Sunday schedule.

What the Work Looks Like

The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm, plus Sunday mornings from 7am to noon. You'll cover common areas throughout the property: lobbies, sidewalks, public restrooms, and shared spaces. Daily tasks include routine cleaning, pressure washing assigned areas, trash collection, and window cleaning. You'll follow checklists provided by the Senior Operations Manager and complete shift-end documentation before handing off to the next team member.

Beyond the daily routine, you'll support event setup and breakdown when the property hosts resident or public gatherings. If a cleaning concern comes up mid-shift, you address it. You'll also monitor supply inventory, flag equipment issues, and report any safety hazards or maintenance problems to management. Covering for teammates during absences is part of the job.

You'll wear the approved ParkX Porter uniform and arrive on site before your shift starts. Residents and guests will interact with you throughout the day, so professionalism and a friendly presence matter here as much as the physical work.

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with no major violations
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and stay on your feet for extended periods
• Comfort working in variable temperatures, outdoors and indoors, with exposure to cleaning chemicals and biological hazards
• Flexibility for weekend work and occasional off-schedule shifts during events or high-activity periods
• Strong reliability and time management. Showing up on time and following through on assigned tasks is non-negotiable here
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while staying accountable to team standards
• Clear communication skills and a professional, approachable manner with residents and staff
