Leasing Consultant

Student housing leasing has its own rhythm. Lease-up cycles compress into short windows, renewals require early and consistent outreach, and traffic management demands both speed and warmth. The Leasing Manager role at Redstone Residential in Kent, Ohio sits squarely inside that rhythm, supporting the Community Manager across daily operations while owning the leasing function as its primary focus.

Redstone is one of the larger third-party student housing operators in the country, managing over 38,000 beds across 20 states. Their Kent property is part of a growing conventional portfolio alongside their student housing base, which means this role carries real operational weight at the community level.

What This Role Requires

The Leasing Manager handles the full leasing cycle: prospect calls, property tours, email follow-up, and renewal campaigns. You'll work inside Entrata's leasing workflow, manage online and social marketing touchpoints, and apply basic SEO thinking to the property's digital presence. Resident ledger accuracy falls under this role as well, so comfort with numbers and attention to detail on account balances matter. Customer service and sales skill aren't incidental here. They're the core of the job.

  • Strong customer service and sales instincts, especially under volume
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Drive, and Dropbox
  • High school diploma or GED required; some college experience is preferred
  • Ability to stay organized and composed during high-traffic leasing periods

What This Role Builds

Leasing Manager is one of the clearest development paths in property management. The skills you'll sharpen here, running leasing strategy, motivating a team around occupancy goals, keeping delinquency in check, and reading what's working in your marketing mix, translate directly into Community Manager readiness. You'll also get exposure to budget performance and staff administration, which are disciplines most pure leasing consultant roles don't touch.

Working inside a large third-party management platform like Redstone's gives you something smaller operators can't: standardized systems, professional development programming, and a continued education benefit that rewards people who want to grow. The 401K match (up to 6%), paid parental leave, and 15 days of PTO round out a compensation structure that reflects a company building for retention, not just filling seats.

The position pays $18.00 per hour and is classified full-time, non-exempt. If you have a feel for leasing, enjoy working with people, and want to develop the operational skills that move careers forward in property management, this is a role worth taking seriously.
