Leasing Consultant (The Dean)
Prometheus Real Estate GroupA prospect walks in Saturday afternoon without an appointment, having toured three other communities that morning. They're tired, a little skeptical, and they want straight answers. How you handle the next twenty minutes determines whether The Dean gains a signed lease or loses traffic to a competitor down the street.
Prometheus Real Estate Group calls this role a Neighbor Ambassador, and the distinction matters operationally. At The Dean in Mountain View, you're carrying three functions simultaneously: customer experience, active sales, and leasing administration. On any given shift, you might guide a future resident through the application process, pull a market survey to benchmark rents against nearby communities, and then post updated availability before the day ends. Weekends are the high-traffic window when prospects are actively shopping, so your schedule is built around Saturday and Sunday availability, with weekday time off in return.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Guiding prospects through the full leasing process, from initial inquiry to signed rental agreement
- Delivering a consistent, high-quality leasing experience that reflects the property's brand and drives occupancy
- Conducting market surveys and maintaining accurate knowledge of competitive pricing and concessions in the Mountain View submarket
- Preparing leasing documents, reports, and apartment advertising with attention to detail and accuracy
- Supporting resident satisfaction so that current neighbors feel genuinely cared for, which directly affects renewal rates and delinquency trends
- Problem-solving on the fly, often without a supervisor in the room
What Prometheus Is Looking For
Prometheus hires across industries, so prior property management experience isn't required. What does matter is a real comfort with sales conversations, a service orientation that reads as genuine rather than scripted, and the ability to stay organized when the leasing office is busy. Strong candidates here will close traffic efficiently without letting administrative tasks pile up behind them. The leasing-to-close ratio matters, and top performers know their numbers.
Pay runs $25.00 to $26.25 per hour, plus a $200 incentive per signed lease, a discretionary semi-annual bonus, and a weekend shift premium. Prometheus also offers company-paid medical, vision, and dental coverage including eligible dependents, a 401(k) with employer matching, tenure-based housing discounts, and tuition reimbursement. Paid volunteer time and a birthday holiday round out a benefits package that's more comprehensive than most in this wage band.
Mountain View's rental market is competitive and renter-savvy. Prospects here often arrive having already reviewed floor plans and pricing online. The consultants who perform best in this environment don't rely on a pitch. They listen, qualify quickly, and match the right unit to the right person without overselling. That skill, traffic conversion under informed, comparison-shopping conditions, transfers directly to senior leasing roles, assistant manager positions, and eventually property management if that's the direction you want to go.
