Leasing Consultant

A prospect walks in on a Saturday afternoon, having driven by the community twice before finally stopping. Within the first few minutes of that conversation, you'll qualify their interest, match them to an available floor plan, and start building the kind of trust that turns a tour into a signed lease. That's the core of this role.

What This Role Covers

MG Properties is hiring a Leasing Consultant for Santa Rosa Apartments in Wildomar, CA. With more than 30 years operating apartment communities across the Western U.S., MG Properties manages properties with a clear emphasis on resident experience and internal growth. This position sits at the front line of both.

Day to day, you'll greet and qualify prospective residents, guide them through tours, prepare leases, and oversee signings. You'll coordinate with the maintenance team to make sure new residents move in without friction, and you'll keep rental files accurate and current. When residents have questions, complaints, or maintenance concerns, you handle those interactions professionally and see them through to resolution. Monthly administrative tasks and data entry into the property management system are part of the rhythm as well.

Occupancy is the measurable outcome of this work. Every leasing interaction, follow-up call, and move-in coordination either supports or erodes it. You'll be expected to understand that connection and treat it as a professional standard, not just a company metric.

What You Bring and What You'll Build

This role requires strong sales instincts paired with genuine customer service ability. You need to be comfortable qualifying applicants thoroughly, managing paperwork accurately, and communicating clearly with both prospects and current residents. At least one year of property management experience is preferred, and professional etiquette is non-negotiable given the volume and variety of resident interactions.

What the role builds is equally worth noting. Leasing Consultants at companies that promote from within (MG Properties explicitly does) tend to move into Assistant Manager roles once they've demonstrated lease-up competency, administrative accuracy, and the ability to handle resident relations without escalation. The combination of sales performance data and file management discipline you develop here translates directly into the skills property management companies look for when hiring for their next tier.

  • Base pay: $22 to $23 per hour
  • Monthly and quarterly bonuses, plus company profit sharing
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 10 days PTO, 10 paid holidays, 2 personal days, and 40 hours paid sick time annually
  • Rental discounts, FSA, dependent care spending account, and employee assistance program

If you take the administrative side of leasing as seriously as the sales side, and you want to work somewhere that tracks that, this is a position worth pursuing.
