Leasing Consultant

Weinstein Properties has been family-owned for over 70 years, and that longevity shows in how they operate. They own and manage more than 60 apartment communities across Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. The Chamblee opening is at Bexley Chamblee, and they're upfront that prior leasing experience isn't required. What they're actually hiring for is attitude, reliability, and the ability to connect with people.

What You'll Actually Do

Most of your day involves prospect traffic: touring apartment homes, following up on leads, and converting interest into signed leases. Move-in bonuses are paid monthly, so your hustle on the leasing floor has a direct and regular payoff. But this isn't a pure sales role. You'll handle resident concerns, help with the property's curb appeal, inspect units, and chip in on administrative work. The job description is honest about it: everyone does a little bit of everything. If you're the type who needs a clean lane, this probably isn't the right fit. If you're the type who gets bored doing just one thing, it might be exactly right.

Schedule options here are worth reading carefully. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm, with rotating Saturdays. But Weinstein also offers an alternate fixed schedule (five set days including Saturday, with Sunday and one consistent weekday off) that comes with an additional per-pay-period bonus. For people who want predictability in their week, that's a real perk, not just a scheduling footnote.

Starting pay is $20 per hour with increases tied to experience, plus quarterly bonuses on top of the monthly move-in bonuses. The comp structure is built to reward performance, not just tenure.

What You Bring

  • Strong verbal and written communication. You can hold a conversation with a nervous first-time renter and a frustrated long-term resident in the same afternoon.
  • Comfort on your feet. This role involves walking properties, inspecting homes, and staying engaged all day.
  • Organized follow-through. Leads go cold fast. You track them and you follow up.
  • Flexibility when priorities shift mid-day, because they will.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside standard hours for resident events or weather-related situations.

Prior leasing experience is a plus, not a requirement. Weinstein has a hands-on training program and a track record of promoting from within. A number of their current leaders started in leasing consultant roles exactly like this one.

One Honest Note

Leasing is a service job with a sales component, and some days are genuinely hard. Prospects who don't show. Residents who are frustrated. Administrative tasks that pile up during busy traffic periods. The companies that acknowledge this upfront tend to retain people longer, because you're not walking in expecting something different than what you get. Weinstein seems to understand that. Their pitch isn't glamour. It's training, growth, and a team that doesn't leave you to figure things out alone.
