Leasing Consultant

Weinstein Properties has been family-owned and operated for over 70 years, managing more than 60 apartment communities across Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. Their Bexley Summerhill community in Atlanta's Summerhill neighborhood is looking for a Leasing Consultant, and the way they've written this posting tells you something useful: they're not screening for a resume, they're screening for a person.

That's worth taking seriously. Weinstein trains from the ground up, and a meaningful number of their current leaders started exactly where this role begins. The company's hands-on ownership model means decisions happen closer to the property level than at most large institutional operators, and that tends to create more visible career paths for people who perform well on-site.

The role itself covers the full breadth of leasing work. You'll be the first contact for prospects, walking them through the community, handling follow-up, and working toward move-in goals that come with monthly bonuses on top of your base hourly rate and quarterly bonuses. But it doesn't stop at sales. You'll handle resident concerns, help maintain the property's appearance, and pitch in on administrative tasks. On a given day, you might greet a walk-in, respond to a maintenance-related complaint, prep a unit for a showing, and close out paperwork before end of shift. The role rewards people who can shift gears without losing momentum.

The schedule runs weekdays 9 to 6, with Saturdays 9 to 5 shared on a team rotation. Sundays are off. You should expect occasional evening or weekend commitments around resident events or weather-related needs. That's part of on-site life and worth knowing upfront.

What separates strong candidates here is less about prior leasing knowledge and more about how they handle the parts of the job that aren't glamorous. Anyone can be warm and engaging when a tour is going well. The people who advance are the ones who stay organized under interruption, follow through on small tasks without being reminded, and genuinely enjoy solving problems for residents who are frustrated. Summerhill is a growing neighborhood, which means traffic will likely include a mix of first-time renters and people relocating to Atlanta, so comfort with varied audiences matters.

What Weinstein is looking for

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A customer-first approach, especially when situations are difficult
  • Comfort with a role that blends sales, service, and administrative work
  • Reliability and a collaborative attitude on a small on-site team
  • Goal orientation and the drive to meet leasing targets
  • Prior leasing experience is welcome but not required

Starting pay is $20 per hour, increasing with experience, plus the bonus structure noted above. Weinstein is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
