Leasing Consultant

Bozzuto operates at the higher end of the multifamily spectrum, and their leasing roles reflect that. This isn't a position where you hand someone a floor plan and hope for the best. It's a consultative sales role where relationship-building and storytelling drive results.

What This Role Actually Involves

As a Leasing Consultant (titled internally as Sales and Marketing Associate), you'll own the full top-of-funnel experience for prospective residents. That means converting inbound leads into scheduled tours, following up consistently with prospects, and conducting personalized tours that speak to the specific lifestyle a community offers. Generic pitches don't close here. Understanding the neighborhood, the floor plan differences, and what actually makes a resident feel at home is what separates a strong month from a slow one.

Beyond the tour itself, you'll contribute to the community's social media presence, creating content on platforms like Instagram and Facebook that builds awareness and keeps the brand visible between prospect visits. Schedule-wise, expect to work three weekends per month, with two weekdays off in exchange. That rhythm is standard in leasing because that's when traffic peaks. If you've done this before, you already know it.

  • Follow up with all leads and provide compelling, accurate information about the community and surrounding area
  • Conduct tours tailored to each prospect's priorities, with the goal of converting visits into signed leases
  • Support resident retention by maintaining a consistently positive experience
  • Create and post social media content that reflects the community's identity
  • Work comfortably across leasing software, apps, and digital communication tools

What You Bring

Strong written and verbal communication is non-negotiable. You're comfortable on camera or in a caption, and you present yourself professionally in person. Sales aptitude matters here, but the best leasing consultants at companies like Bozzuto tend to be genuinely curious about people, not just closing-focused. Residents can tell the difference, and so can renewal rates.

The role pays between $47,000 and $50,000 base, with additional bonus opportunities on top of that. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 20 days of paid time off plus holidays, a 401k with company match, and tuition reimbursement.

Where This Role Can Take You

Leasing Consultant is one of the most transferable starting points in property management. The skills you build here, qualifying prospects, handling objections, learning how to read a delinquency report and connect it to occupancy trends, directly prepare you for an Assistant Manager role. From there, the path to Property Manager is a matter of adding financial fluency and team oversight. Bozzuto's size and portfolio mean internal mobility is a real option, not just something mentioned in an interview. If you're thinking about where this leads, that's the right question to be asking.
