Leasing Consultant

A prospect calls at 9:05 on a Tuesday morning. They want to see a two-bedroom today. You pull up availability, check the unit's condition, schedule the tour, and log the guest card before you've finished your coffee. That's the pace at Arbors at Turnberry.

The Role

Arbors at Turnberry is a 367-unit community in Pickerington, OH, managed by Ackermann Group, a Midwest developer and operator with a track record going back to 1938. This is a full-time leasing position: Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm, plus rotating Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.

Day to day, you're the first voice prospects hear and the first face they see. You convert inquiries into tours, tours into signed leases, and new residents into long-term ones. You handle the full leasing cycle: guest card entry, follow-up, lease prep, and move-in documentation. You also walk units and common areas regularly, tidying what you can and flagging what maintenance needs to handle.

You'll keep up with the local rental market well enough to speak to it during tours. You'll respond to resident questions and route anything complex to the right person. You'll participate in after-hours resident events on occasion and support outreach efforts when needed. The CRM and property management software (Yardi Voyager and Rent Cafe are the preferred platforms here) are tools you'll use daily, not occasionally.

Ackermann offers hourly pay plus commission on new and renewed leases, health benefits, a 401k with company match, paid time off including your birthday, an employee rent discount, and career development support.

What They're Looking For

  • Prior customer service experience, required
  • Leasing or sales background, strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Yardi Voyager, Rent Cafe, or similar CRM tools, preferred
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working as part of a small site team
  • High school diploma or equivalent

What separates strong candidates here is follow-through. Leasing at a 367-unit community means managing a real volume of prospects at different stages. The people who perform well track their pipeline carefully, follow up without being prompted, and close tours without high-pressure tactics. If your background is in retail or hospitality sales and you're transitioning into property management, that experience translates well to this kind of role.
