Leasing Consultant

Bozzuto operates across the full property management spectrum, from development through day-to-day operations, which means a leasing role here isn't isolated work. You're a visible part of a larger machine, and your ability to convert traffic into signed leases has a direct, measurable effect on occupancy and NOI at the community level.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

Your core job is turning interest into leases. That means following up with prospects, answering questions about the community and the surrounding Kent area, and conducting tours that feel personal rather than scripted. You're not just showing floor plans. You're helping someone picture their life in a specific place, and that requires you to listen before you pitch.

Social media is part of the role too. You'll create content for platforms like Instagram and Facebook to build awareness and keep the community visible to people who are just starting their apartment search. This isn't a side task. It's a real part of how modern lease-ups and stabilized properties generate traffic without depending entirely on ILS spending.

The schedule runs three weekends per month, with two weekdays off in exchange. That's worth knowing upfront. Weekends are when most prospective residents are actively looking, so your availability during that window is directly tied to your ability to close.

What Bozzuto Expects You to Bring

  • Strong written and verbal communication, including comfort with digital correspondence
  • A customer-first approach and genuine interest in helping people find the right home
  • Comfort with social media platforms and a willingness to create original content
  • Sales instincts, not pressure tactics, but the ability to move a conversation toward a decision
  • Proficiency with software, apps, and property management tools
  • A polished, professional presence

Where This Role Can Take You

Leasing consultant is the foundational role in residential property management, and the skills you build here compound quickly. The best consultants develop an instinct for reading prospects, handling objections, and closing under pressure. Those same skills translate directly into assistant manager and property manager roles, where you're also managing delinquency, renewals, and concession strategy. Bozzuto specifically invests in development through tuition reimbursement and career programs, which makes this a more viable long-term move than a typical leasing job at a smaller operator.

What separates strong candidates from average ones in this role isn't raw sales ability. It's follow-through. Prospects who don't hear back quickly rarely convert. If you're the type who closes the loop without being reminded, you'll stand out fast.
