MG Properties runs apartment communities across the Western U.S. and has been doing it for over 30 years. Their portfolio spans acquisition, development, rehab, and day-to-day management. The Housekeeper role at Texcoco in San Diego is a ground-level position that directly affects how residents experience the property every single day.
This job covers the full footprint of a residential community. Common areas, hallways, laundry rooms, waste disposal areas, the leasing office, clubhouse, restrooms, and model units all fall under your scope. You'll also prep vacant apartments for incoming residents, which means cleaning and staging them to move-in-ready condition and keeping them that way until occupied.
Daily sanitizing of the leasing office and clubhouse is part of the routine. You'll also track cleaning supplies and flag shortages to management before they become a problem. Safety concerns you spot during your rounds get reported, not ignored.
Pay runs $21 to $23 per hour depending on experience. The role includes monthly bonuses, company profit sharing, a 401(k) with employer match, and full medical, dental, and vision coverage. PTO, paid holidays, personal days, and paid sick time are included. MG Properties also offers rental discounts, which matters if you're looking to live closer to where you work.
One thing worth knowing: make-ready cleaning on vacant units is where attention to detail gets tested most. A unit that looks clean on the surface but has grime in corners, residue in appliances, or smudged windows will get flagged during inspection. The strongest housekeepers in multifamily work treat every vacant unit like it's the one a prospective resident will walk through that afternoon, because sometimes it is.
