Housekeeping at a luxury apartment community covers more ground than most people expect. You're not just cleaning units. You're maintaining the standard that residents paid a premium to live within, and your work directly shapes how the property presents to prospects walking through on a tour.

What the Work Actually Involves

At Griffis Residential's Seattle community, the housekeeper role spans both common areas and apartment interiors. Common areas include the clubhouse, fitness center, business center, and leasing office. These spaces get daily attention, and the standard you hold them to reflects the property's overall brand. On the apartment side, you'll follow make-ready cleaning procedures using provided checklists to get units ready for incoming residents. If a ready unit has been sitting for more than a week, you'll return to refresh it so it stays move-in ready. You'll also communicate any maintenance issues you notice to the Service Manager, which makes you an extra set of eyes for the broader facilities team.

Daily tasks come from the Community and Service Managers, so you'll need to work comfortably within a structured schedule while also responding to what you find as you move through the property. Following product safety labels and cleaning protocols correctly matters here, both for resident safety and for protecting surfaces in a higher-finish environment.

Skills This Role Requires and Skills It Builds

You need to bring attention to detail, physical stamina, and at least a year of cleaning experience in multifamily housing, hospitality, or a comparable setting. Strong communication skills matter too, since you'll be interacting with residents and associates regularly. Bilingual ability in Spanish is a plus given Seattle's diverse resident base.

What this role builds is a working knowledge of the make-ready process and how turns function within a multifamily operation. That's a transferable skill. Housekeepers who understand make-ready standards, punch list thinking, and unit condition expectations are much better positioned to move into maintenance coordinator or make-ready technician roles over time. You're learning how a luxury property operates from the inside out.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly range is $23 to $24.50. Full-time associates receive a 50% rental discount, a quarterly bonus program tied to occupancy and online reputation, 401(k) with up to 4% company match, medical, dental, and vision coverage, at least three weeks of PTO accruing from day one, 11 paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 annually. The benefit package is notably more comprehensive than what most hospitality or hotel housekeeping roles offer at comparable pay.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One year of experience in multifamily, hospitality, or similar preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning checklists and safety protocols
• Clear communication skills; bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Ability to work within a team structure directed by Community and Service Managers
