It's 9 a.m. and you're already cross-referencing a delinquency report from one neighborhood while a Home Base Coordinator at another property is on the phone waiting for your sign-off on a move-in file. This is a normal Tuesday for a Home Base Supervisor at Prometheus.

Prometheus Real Estate Group has been quietly building one of the Bay Area's most respected apartment portfolios since 1965. With more than 13,000 units across Silicon Valley, Portland, and Seattle, this is a company that owns and operates for the long term. They're vertically integrated, which means acquisitions, development, renovations, and operations all live under one roof. For the people who work here, that structure creates real depth of career exposure. It also means the Home Base Supervisor role touches more of the business than a comparable title at a third-party management company ever would.

What This Role Actually Involves

The title is "Home Base Supervisor," and Prometheus uses it deliberately. These aren't traditional administrative leads. The role spans multiple properties and carries genuine leadership weight. On any given day, you're auditing lease documentation for accuracy and fair housing compliance, approving or flagging move-in and renewal files, reviewing delinquency reports, and supporting the team through the full leasing cycle from application verification through resident qualification. When evictions are necessary, you help coordinate that process in compliance with legal direction and court orders.

Managing people is a real part of this job. You'll hire, train, and direct Home Base Coordinators, conduct performance reviews, handle complaints, and keep the administrative side of multiple properties running accurately. That means holding people accountable while also being someone they can bring problems to.

The cross-departmental piece is equally important. You'll work regularly with property management, operations, accounting, and neighborhood operations teams to resolve issues that don't fit neatly into one box. Prometheus also values people who notice when a process isn't working and say so. Suggesting practical policy improvements is an explicit part of the job.

Who Fits This Role Well

  • At least three years of property management experience, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity
  • Working knowledge of California housing rental laws, fair housing requirements, and lease documentation
  • Comfort with bookkeeping-level detail: delinquency tracking, rent collection oversight, and audit-readiness
  • A high school diploma or GED at minimum; a bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Ability to travel between properties as business needs require

The candidates who do best here aren't just organized. They're people who can read a tense situation with a resident or a struggling team member and respond with both firmness and fairness. Silicon Valley properties attract a demanding resident base, and the administrative layer of leasing operations leaves little room for documentation errors. Strong candidates bring both the interpersonal steadiness and the detail orientation to handle that combination without burning out.

Compensation runs from $39.25 to $45.00 per hour, with a discretionary annual bonus and additional incentives including referral, training coach, and lease-up bonuses. Prometheus covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for eligible employees and dependents, and offers a 401(k) with employer matching.
