Customer Service Coordinator
Evergreen ResidentialSingle-family rental at scale runs on coordination. At Evergreen Residential, a Dallas-based SFR and build-to-rent platform founded in 2021, the Customer Service Coordinator role sits at the intersection of resident relations, maintenance operations, and the kind of real-time problem-solving that keeps portfolios performing. If you've built communication and organization skills in property management or a high-volume service environment, this role puts both to work every day.
Skills This Role Develops and Demands
Resident-facing work in institutional SFR is different from traditional multifamily. You're supporting residents in scattered single-family homes rather than a single property, which means your coordination instincts matter more than walking a leaseup or monitoring foot traffic at a leasing desk. The skills that compound here: triaging inbound calls and escalations, tracking work order pipelines across a service request dashboard, and translating maintenance updates into clear resident communication. You'll also get exposure to smart home technology, including lock access, account setup, and troubleshooting. As SFR operators increasingly differentiate on tech-enabled resident experience, that's a transferable skill set.
The schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday, 9am to 6pm, with Saturday offering a work-from-home option. Occasional evening and overtime hours are part of the role. That's worth knowing before you apply.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Day to day, you're handling inbound calls and routing them correctly, supporting residents on portal questions and ledger inquiries, and coordinating with field operations teams to make sure service requests get resolved on time and meet company standards. You'll conduct resident welcome calls, troubleshoot smart home issues, and serve as the internal subject matter expert for maintenance workflow. The ledger work, both prospect and resident-side, gives you exposure to how income and charges flow in a managed SFR portfolio.
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one year of administrative or customer service experience; property management background preferred
- Prior use of property management software is a plus
- Calm under pressure, especially on escalated calls
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe
- Strong organization and time management, with consistent follow-through on deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Where This Role Leads
Coordinators who learn the operational rhythm of an institutional SFR platform, work order management, resident lifecycle touchpoints, ledger basics, and tech-enabled service, tend to grow into operations specialist, portfolio coordinator, or assistant property manager roles. At a company like Evergreen, which is still building its operational infrastructure and has leadership with deep SFR institutional roots, there's real exposure to how a modern third-party management platform is structured. That's a different kind of education than you'd get at a legacy multifamily operator. The candidates who stand out here aren't just organized. They read a situation quickly, stay composed when a resident is frustrated, and close the loop without being asked twice.
