Concierge-Part Time

Rise Association Management Group
Full-time
On-site
Houston, Texas, United States
$16 - $16 USD hourly
HOA / Association Manager

It's 2 a.m. on a Sunday and a resident locked themselves out. You're the only point of contact in the building. How you handle the next ten minutes sets the tone for that resident's entire week.

Rise Association Management Group operates as a third-party fee management firm focused exclusively on Texas community associations. This particular opening sits inside a luxury high-rise condominium in the 77019 zip code, one of Houston's more established urban corridors, and the role carries a schedule that reflects real overnight and swing coverage: Sunday and Monday midnight to 8 a.m., Tuesday 4 p.m. to midnight. Part-time hours, but the responsibility level at the front desk during those windows is full-time in every practical sense.

What the Role Covers

The concierge is the building's face, gatekeeper, and first responder all in one shift. Day-to-day tasks include greeting residents and guests, controlling property access, monitoring cameras, and flagging anything unusual to management per established front desk protocols. You'll complete Daily Activity Reports, write incident reports when needed, and stay current on amenity availability and community activities so you can answer questions without fumbling.

The service component goes deeper than desk work. This role handles package processing, coordinates transportation and reservation requests, fields questions about local dining and cultural events, and assists with housekeeping arrangements. A genuine working knowledge of the surrounding Houston area, what's open, what's worth recommending, what's changed, matters here. Residents at this tier expect answers, not "let me look that up."

There's also light administrative and tech support involved: PowerPoint assistance for reports and presentations, engagement with building systems, and helping homeowners troubleshoot queries. The ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds is a real requirement, not a formality, given package handling at scale in a high-rise setting.

Who Fits This Role

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a background in hospitality management or business administration is preferred
  • At least one year of experience in luxury hospitality or upscale residential property management
  • Strong verbal and written communication, the kind that holds up at 3 a.m. with a frustrated resident
  • Solid organizational skills and comfort managing several competing priorities at once
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to engage with building technology platforms
  • Professional presentation and demeanor throughout every shift, including overnight

The honest challenge of this schedule is that two of the three shifts are overnight. That filters out a lot of applicants, which is fine. The candidates who do well here tend to be self-directed, calm under pressure, and genuinely comfortable being the sole point of contact in a quiet building. If you've worked front desk at a boutique hotel or a Class A residential property and liked the rhythm of overnight work, this translates directly.

Pay runs $16 to $16.75 per hour.
