Community Manager

Community managers sit at the center of everything: financial performance, team output, resident experience, and ownership reporting. At a property this size, that means the role touches every department and every problem. Hawthorne Residential Partners, one of the top 50 multifamily operators in the country and a Southeast-rooted company, is filling that seat at Hawthorne at Weaverville in Asheville, NC.

What This Role Actually Covers

You run the property. That means owning the budget, tracking delinquency, managing deposit accounting, and producing financial reporting that holds up to ownership scrutiny. You'll work inside Yardi and Knock daily, so comfort with both matters. On the leasing side, you're not just reviewing your team's numbers. You're conducting tours, responding to leads, and keeping occupancy and renewal rates on target through active participation, not just oversight.

Team leadership is a real part of the job. You hire, train, and coach office and maintenance staff. You run weekly team meetings and stay close enough to daily operations to catch performance issues before they compound. Vendor relationships, work order flow, and preventative maintenance coordination fall under your watch too.

Resident escalations land on your desk. You handle them directly, with professionalism. You also manage the community's online reputation and plan resident events. The leasing office runs Monday through Friday, 9 to 6, and Saturdays, 10 to 4. One weekday off per week keeps the schedule at 40 hours, though evening and weekend availability may come up for events or community needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least two years of property management experience, including time as a leasing consultant and assistant community manager
• Six months of community manager experience in multifamily, strongly preferred
• Yardi, Knock, and Microsoft Office experience, strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• CAM, CAPS, real estate license, or property management license preferred

Compensation includes a base salary plus monthly leasing and renewal commissions and quarterly performance bonuses.
