Centralized leasing hubs have become a practical answer to a real operational problem: communities need consistent lead coverage without relying solely on on-site staff availability. This role sits inside that model. You're not based at a single property. You work from a central hub and handle lead volume across Cortland's portfolio, connecting prospective residents to the right community before they ever walk through a door.
The volume here is real. You'll work an average of 40 to 50 leads per day through inbound and outbound channels, including calls, emails, and texts routed through RealPage. Your goal on each contact is straightforward: qualify the prospect, match them to the right community based on their needs and timeline, and set an appointment for the on-site leasing team to close. You're the first voice many future residents hear.
You'll need to know the portfolio well. That means understanding pricing, concessions, amenities, and unit availability across multiple communities, not just one. Cortland provides training and site visits to build that knowledge, but you'll be expected to apply it quickly and confidently on live calls. Strong product knowledge is what separates a consultant who books appointments from one who just takes messages.
The role also requires maintaining a working relationship with on-site leasing teams. You're handing off warm leads, so clear communication and mutual trust with those teams directly affects your results.
One thing worth knowing: candidates who do well here typically come from sales-oriented service roles where they had to qualify needs and move people toward a decision, not just answer questions. If you've worked in leasing before, that helps. If you haven't, a track record of hitting call or appointment targets in another field translates well.
Cortland is based in Atlanta and operates as a vertically integrated owner-operator, handling design, construction, and management in-house. The hub model reflects how larger operators are structuring leasing functions to maintain consistent traffic generation across a growing portfolio, and this role is a direct part of that infrastructure.
