Assistant Property Manager

Some roles in property management are primarily operational. This one runs on relationship skills first, and everything else follows from there. The Assistant Property Manager at Bozzuto's Mountlake Terrace community spends a meaningful portion of each day reading people: prospective residents deciding where to live, current residents working through a concern, vendors needing direction, and teammates who look to you when the Property Manager is out.

The Skills This Role Draws On Most

Sales instinct matters here, but it's not the transactional kind. Bozzuto tours are meant to be personalized conversations, not scripted walkthroughs. You'll need to listen well enough to connect what you're showing someone to what they've told you they care about. That ability, to genuinely hear people and respond to what's actually being said, is the same skill that makes delinquency conversations go better, that keeps residents loyal when something goes wrong, and that makes coaching a leasing consultant feel like support rather than criticism.

On the financial side, you'll own rent collection and delinquency management, and you'll work with P&L exposure and budget awareness. Comfort with numbers matters, but so does the judgment to know when to push and when to problem-solve with a resident. Yardi proficiency (or a willingness to get there quickly) will help you stay on top of the operational picture day to day.

You'll also be active on social media, creating content that reflects both the community and the broader Bozzuto brand. This isn't a posting-for-the-sake-of-it expectation. The content has to feel genuine to the community and the people who live there.

What the Week Actually Looks Like

One or two weekends per month, you'll be on-site when prospective residents are actively searching. Those days often carry the most traffic and the most energy. In exchange, you get two weekdays off. It's a rhythm that works for some people and not for others, so it's worth being honest with yourself about that before you apply.

When the Property Manager is away, you step into the lead role. That means decisions don't wait. The team looks to you, vendors need answers, and residents still have needs. Experience in hospitality or retail translates well here because those industries train people to handle ambiguity in front of others without it showing.

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
• 2 or more years in property management, hospitality, or retail
• Familiarity with P&L basics and budget management
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Yardi or comparable property management software experience preferred
• Comfort creating and managing social media content

Compensation ranges from $30.31 to $34.00 per hour, with bonus eligibility. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 20 days of paid time off plus holidays, a 401k with company match, and tuition reimbursement.
