This role sits at the center of Roofstock's single-family rental platform, which means your portfolio won't look like a traditional apartment community. You'll manage a geographically dispersed collection of SFR properties across state lines, working virtually with investors who have varying goals, risk tolerances, and expectations. On any given day, you might be tracking a delinquency situation in one market, coordinating a make-ready in another, reviewing R&M costs against an investor's NOI targets, and following up with internal teams on a task that's been sitting too long. You'll use Roofstock's proprietary technology alongside standard property management platforms to keep everything moving.
You'll serve as the primary liaison between investors and the rest of the Roofstock organization, which means you're not just fielding calls. You're synthesizing information from leasing, maintenance, accounting, and resident services into a clear picture that investors can act on. When complex problems surface (and they will), you're expected to resolve the immediate issue and identify the root cause so it doesn't repeat. You'll also need to be comfortable representing the company at eviction-related court proceedings when required, including contested hearings or appeals.
Managing SFR portfolios at scale is a different discipline than managing a garden-style or mid-rise community. There's no leasing office, no on-site team you can walk down the hall to find, and no single rent roll that neatly captures your whole portfolio in one view. The skills this role builds, specifically remote portfolio oversight, cross-functional coordination in a tech-driven environment, and investor-level communication, transfer directly to institutional SFR operations, asset management, and fee management roles. Companies running large SFR portfolios at scale increasingly need people who've learned to manage complexity without physical presence, and this role develops exactly that capability.
The base salary for this position is $60,000 annually. Roofstock notes that total compensation extends beyond base pay and includes benefits such as health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k program, generous PTO, parental leave, and wellness and home office subsidies.
