Assistant Property Manager

Olympus Property has earned recognition as a National Apartment Association Top Employer three consecutive years, and the team at Auburn Lakes in Spring, TX reflects that. The culture here centers on genuine care rather than a polished mission statement. If you've spent time onsite at an apartment community and you understand that residents aren't just customers but neighbors, this is a place where that instinct gets put to real use.

The Assistant Manager role here is operational at its core. You're the person who keeps the money moving accurately, the files clean, and the leasing team supported. Rent collection, deposits made before bank close, final account statements after move-outs, make-ready inspections before a resident picks up keys. These aren't glamorous tasks, but they're the foundation a well-run community depends on. When the Property Manager is out, you step into that seat without missing a beat.

Residents will stop by with questions, complaints, and the occasional crisis. Your comfort with those in-person moments matters as much as your ability to manage collections and keep records. You'll also carry some leasing responsibilities when the team needs it, show apartments, and participate in retention events. Keeping an eye on what's happening in the Spring submarket, new construction, hiring trends nearby, business changes, factors that could affect occupancy, is part of how you add value beyond the front desk.

RealPage, Knock, or Onesite experience will help you get up to speed quickly. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 9 to 6, with flexibility expected for resident events and for covering the first weekend of each month.

One honest note on what separates strong candidates from average ones in this role: it's the combination of financial discipline and people instincts. A lot of leasing professionals have the resident-facing warmth but struggle with the accounting rigor. A lot of administrators have the systems fluency but go stiff in a lobby conversation. The Assistant Manager position at a community like this demands both in the same person, often in the same hour.

What Olympus is looking for

  • Prior onsite experience as an Assistant Manager or a cross-trained Leasing Consultant
  • Comfort with property management software, particularly RealPage, Knock, or Onesite
  • A detail-oriented approach to financial records, rent collection, and resident file management
  • Genuine ease in direct resident conversations and the ability to handle complaints with composure
  • Availability Monday through Friday with flexibility for monthly weekend coverage and resident events

Pay starts between $22 and $23 per hour depending on experience, with monthly renewal incentives and quarterly bonuses available. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with employer matching, educational assistance, pet insurance, an apartment rental allowance, and a sabbatical program, among others.
