Assistant Property Manager
Weinstein PropertiesWhat You'll Actually Do
Bexley at WestRidge is a Weinstein Properties community in McKinney, and this Assistant Property Manager role covers the full operating picture. On the leasing side, you'll handle internet leads, incoming calls, scheduled tours, applications, lease execution, and deposit collection. Resident services runs the gamut: renewals, notices to vacate, early terminations, pet addenda, transfers, and account questions. You'll also coordinate with maintenance, walk make-readies to confirm punch list completion, follow up on open work orders, and process move-outs including security deposit dispositions. Rent posting and delinquency follow-up are part of the weekly rhythm. And yes, resident events fall to you too, planning them, setting them up, hosting them.
There's also a leadership component. This isn't a pure leasing agent role. You'll help train team members, set the tone on the floor, and assist the Property Manager in hitting occupancy and operational goals. If you've managed people in hospitality, retail, or sales, that experience translates here more directly than most postings will admit.
What You Bring
- Some supervisory or team leadership experience, even if informal
- Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to have difficult conversations calmly
- Comfort in a role where no two days run the same way
- Detail orientation, particularly around lease paperwork and account accuracy
- Prior property management experience is a plus, but Weinstein trains from the ground up if your background is solid
Context Worth Knowing
Weinstein Properties has been family-owned for over 70 years, headquartered in Richmond with communities across Virginia, the Carolinas, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. That kind of ownership structure tends to mean decisions get made closer to the property level, which most site-level managers prefer. The training program here has a real reputation in our industry. A lot of people who came in with no multifamily background ended up as property managers or moved into regional roles. The pay starts at $21 per hour with quarterly bonuses on top, and the schedule runs weekdays plus rotating Saturdays, with Sundays off.
McKinney has seen sustained population growth over the past several years, which means the DFW suburban market stays competitive for traffic and lease-up velocity. Strong follow-up habits and genuine sales instinct matter here. The candidates who stand out in this market aren't just organized, they're persuasive without being pushy, and they know how to close a lease while still making the prospect feel heard.
