Assistant Property Manager
BozzutoBozzuto operates across the full property management spectrum, from development and construction to day-to-day operations at communities that tend to set the bar in their local markets. The Assistant Property Manager role at their West Harrison, NY location sits at the center of site operations. You're the connective tissue between leasing activity, resident experience, and financial performance.
Day to day, this role moves fast. You're collecting rent, working delinquency before it becomes a problem, conducting tours that close leases, and keeping the property looking the part inside and out. When the Property Manager is off-site, you run the show. That's not ceremonial. Bozzuto expects the APM to carry real operational weight.
The financial piece matters here. You'll have exposure to P&L, budgets, and revenue management. Candidates who've only leased apartments without touching the numbers side will find this role stretches them. That's a good thing if you're ready for it, but go in knowing the expectation is full-cycle accountability, not just traffic and leases.
The schedule includes one to two weekends per month. Weekend days off shift to weekdays. That's standard for residential property management, worth knowing upfront if you haven't worked that rotation before.
What Bozzuto is Looking For
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience in property management, hospitality, or retail
- At least two years in a relevant customer-facing or operations role
- Comfort with P&L, budget exposure, and revenue basics
- Yardi experience preferred; general tech competency required
- Active use of social media platforms for community marketing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Genuine sales aptitude, not just a willingness to try
The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $80,000, with additional bonus potential. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 20 days of paid time off plus holidays, a 401k with company match, and tuition reimbursement.
For candidates thinking longer term: APM roles at well-run companies like Bozzuto are a direct track to Property Manager. The skills you build here, managing delinquency, reading a budget, coaching a team, translate cleanly into senior site leadership or regional operations. West Harrison puts you in a competitive Westchester County submarket, which gives you exposure to residents and ownership expectations at a level that sharpens your instincts faster than softer markets will.
