Assistant Property Manager

Bozzuto operates across development, construction, and third-party management, which means the people running their communities carry a broader operational awareness than you'd find at a purely fee-management shop. The Assistant Property Manager role in Seattle's Fremont/Wallingford corridor sits inside that environment. You're working with a recognized brand, which raises the bar on resident experience and brand consistency, and you're being positioned to grow.

What the Day-to-Day Actually Involves

This role splits its energy between two areas that don't always get equal attention in APM positions: financial accountability and people leadership. On the financial side, you're watching delinquency closely, driving rent collection, and building familiarity with P&L and budget variances. That exposure compounds fast. APMs who spend two or three years genuinely owning those numbers become very competitive candidates for Property Manager roles.

On the people side, you're coaching leasing staff, covering for the Property Manager when needed, and serving as the on-site culture carrier. Bozzuto's model emphasizes service consistency, so your ability to set a standard through your own behavior matters as much as your ability to give feedback. Weekend availability is part of this role, one to two weekends per month, with weekday days off in exchange.

The leasing component is real. You'll conduct personalized tours and contribute directly to occupancy performance. Seattle's rental market rewards consultative leasing, not scripted pitches, and Bozzuto's expectation is that you bring genuine local knowledge into those conversations.

What Bozzuto Is Looking For

  • A four-year degree or equivalent experience with at least two years in property management, hospitality, or retail
  • Hands-on exposure to budgets, P&L, and revenue tracking
  • Comfort with Yardi or comparable property management software
  • Active use of social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Facebook, for community marketing
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and the sales instincts to back it up

Where This Role Can Take You

The skills that develop in a well-run APM role transfer directly into property management and regional operations. If you're tracking delinquency and contributing to NOI conversations now, you'll be ready to own a T-12 and run a budget review inside a few years. Bozzuto offers tuition reimbursement and active career development programs, which signals they're structured to promote from within. The salary range for this position is $30 to $34 per hour, with bonus eligibility on top of that, plus full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 20 days of PTO, and 401k with company match.

If you've been in a leasing role and you're ready to take on more financial responsibility, or if you've been managing a smaller community and want the operational rigor of a larger platform, this is a natural next step.
