A resident stops by mid-morning to ask about renewing, but their account shows a balance and they're not happy about it. You pull up the ledger, walk them through the charges, and leave the conversation with a signed renewal. That's a normal Tuesday at Addison at Swift Creek.
Weinstein Properties has managed apartment communities for over 70 years as a family-owned company. They own and operate more than 60 properties across Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. This Assistant Property Manager position sits at their Addison at Swift Creek community in Midlothian, VA.
The job covers the full range of on-site operations alongside the Property Manager. On the leasing side, you'll work incoming traffic, respond to internet leads, schedule and conduct tours, process applications, and get leases executed. On the resident side, you'll handle renewals, notices to vacate, transfers, pet addendums, and general account questions. You'll post rent, track delinquency, and follow up on outstanding balances.
You'll coordinate closely with maintenance, walk units to confirm make-ready status, and follow up with residents on open work orders. Move-in and move-out processing, including security deposit dispositions, falls to this role. Resident events are part of the job too: planning, prepping, and hosting. When the Property Manager needs support, you provide it.
Starting pay is $21 per hour, with quarterly bonuses. The schedule runs weekdays 9 to 6 and Saturdays 9 to 5 on rotation. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, a rent discount, paid holidays, birthday time off, and an Employee Assistance Program.
Prior property management experience helps but isn't required. Strong candidates come from customer service, sales, or hospitality backgrounds where they've managed people and handled difficult conversations without flinching. Leadership or management experience is required. This role involves guiding team members and holding standards, so you need to have done that somewhere before.
Weinstein trains on the property management specifics, but they expect you to walk in already knowing how to lead, communicate, and solve problems under pressure. The candidates who advance here tend to be the ones who treat resident relationships and team accountability with equal seriousness. Many of the company's site managers and regional staff started in roles exactly like this one.
