Assistant Property Manager

Multifamily operations run on a small number of people doing a large number of things well. At a community like Stonepointe University Place, the Assistant Manager is the person who keeps the back office honest while also being present enough at the front desk to step in on leasing when traffic picks up or the team needs coverage.

Olympus Property has earned recognition from the National Apartment Association as a top employer three consecutive years (2023, 2024, 2025). That's not common, and it shapes what working here looks like in practice: a culture that emphasizes collaboration, direct communication, and internal growth over revolving-door staffing.

What This Role Actually Covers

This is a full-cycle operations position. You'll handle rent collection, deposits, and delinquency follow-up, and you're responsible for making sure all funds are entered into the system and deposited before bank close each day. Resident accounts don't wait, and neither does this role.

You'll inspect make-ready units before move-in, process move-out assessments, and get final account statements out in a timely manner. When the Property Manager is out, you run the property. That means fielding liability claims, escalating legal matters to regional and corporate, and keeping day-to-day operations on track without someone telling you what to do next.

You'll also stay current on the Tacoma submarket: what's being built nearby, what employers are hiring, what competitors are doing with concessions or occupancy. That market awareness feeds directly into how the community positions itself and protects NOI.

Leasing support is part of the job too. When the leasing team needs coverage, you show units. Resident retention events and community programming are part of the schedule, including occasional after-hours events and the first weekend of each month.

What Olympus Is Looking For

  • Prior onsite experience as an Assistant Manager or a cross-trained Leasing Consultant
  • Comfort with RealPage, Knock, or Onesite (strongly preferred)
  • Full-time availability, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, with schedule flexibility noted above
  • Attention to detail on financial records, resident files, and compliance, handled with confidentiality
  • The composure to handle resident complaints directly and escalate appropriately when needed

Pay runs between $24.00 and $26.75 per hour based on experience, plus monthly renewal and quarterly bonus incentives. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision, a 401(k) with employer match, educational assistance, pet insurance, an apartment rental allowance, and a sabbatical program among others.

The strongest candidates in this type of role tend to be people who already know how to prioritize on a day when three things go sideways at once. Resident complaints, a deposit that needs to reconcile, and a prospective renter walking in at the same time are all real scenarios. If that kind of day energizes you rather than depletes you, this role is worth a close look.
