Assistant Maintenance Manager ($3,500 Sign on Bonus)

It's a Tuesday afternoon and three service tickets just came in while you're overseeing a make-ready on a vacated unit. The HVAC tech needs a decision, a resident is waiting on a plumbing fix, and the grounds crew has a question about the week's schedule. This is the job.

What the Role Actually Involves

Bozzuto is hiring an Assistant Maintenance Manager for their community in Venice, FL. The salary range is $52,000 to $55,000, and there's a $3,500 sign-on bonus attached to this one. The role sits between hands-on trade work and team leadership, which means you're not just fixing things. You're making sure others fix things correctly, on time, and to a standard.

Day-to-day, you're managing apartment turns, running the preventative maintenance program, and keeping service tickets moving so residents aren't waiting. You'll handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair directly when needed, and you'll be responsible for keeping the building components operating at peak efficiency. General upkeep, grounds maintenance, and safety compliance are all part of the scope. You'll also participate in the emergency on-call rotation, so if evenings and weekends are a dealbreaker, this isn't your role.

What Bozzuto Needs From You

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the trades, facilities, or residential building maintenance
• HVAC, EPA, and/or NAPE certification
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair
• Familiarity with OSHA, MSDS, and risk management practices
• Basic carpentry, drywall, and painting skills
• Experience with complex mechanical systems (central plant, split systems, boilers, chillers) is a plus
• Some supervisory or leadership experience, even informal
• Comfort with technology platforms and basic Microsoft Office proficiency
• Physical ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds frequently, climb ladders, and work in varying outdoor conditions
