Assistant General Manager- West Ocean (Long Beach, CA)
Action Property ManagementA homeowner calls about a noise complaint, a vendor is waiting at the front desk, and the access control log shows a discrepancy from last night's shift. Before 9 a.m., you've already touched three different parts of this job. That's West Ocean on a typical morning.
The Role
Action Property Management is hiring an Assistant General Manager for West Ocean, a high-rise community in Long Beach, CA. You'll work directly alongside the General Manager to keep daily operations running. That means handling resident communications, supporting front desk and access control staff, and acting as the go-to contact for community information and member services.
This is an on-site, hands-on position. Residents interact with this office constantly, and your responsiveness shapes their experience directly. You'll help train and supervise front-line staff, so you need to be comfortable giving direction and holding people accountable without escalating everything to the GM.
What You Bring
- Experience in HOA management, hospitality, or a similar resident-facing operations role
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for working with homeowners and staff
- Comfort managing multiple priorities without losing track of the details
- Supervisory experience or clear readiness to step into that responsibility
- Familiarity with access control systems and building operations is a plus
Action Property Management has operated since 1984 and manages over 300 communities across nine offices in the West. They're the largest privately held HOA management company in the region. West Ocean is the kind of community that reflects that reputation, so they need someone who takes resident service seriously and doesn't need to be reminded twice.
Strong candidates for this role tend to have a hospitality mindset, people who read a situation quickly and respond without waiting for a script. HOA work at a high-rise property involves a lot of small moments that add up to how a building feels to live in. The AGM is central to that.
