Assistant General Manager
BozzutoThe Role in Context
Bozzuto's Assistant General Manager position in Boca Raton sits at the intersection of leasing, resident experience, and day-to-day operations. At Bozzuto communities, the AGM functions as a genuine second-in-command, carrying real accountability for occupancy, delinquency, and team leadership rather than just supporting the GM from the sidelines. The posted salary range of $65,000 to $69,000 reflects a mid-market AGM comp for South Florida, with bonus eligibility layered on top.
What the Day Actually Looks Like
Your week pulls in several directions at once. On the leasing side, you're conducting tours, converting traffic into new leases, and working toward retention goals by making sure resident interactions land well. On the financial side, you're collecting rent, posting receipts, and actively managing delinquency before it compounds. When the GM is off-site, the responsibility for team direction, appearance standards, and resident issue resolution falls to you. You'll work two weekends per month, which is standard for a leasing-facing role where Saturday and Sunday are peak prospect days.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Managing rent collection, posting receipts, and keeping delinquency in check
- Conducting personalized community tours that result in signed leases
- Coaching and mentoring team members in the GM's absence
- Maintaining interior and exterior presentation standards across the community
- Engaging residents in ways that build genuine loyalty and support retention goals
- Creating and managing content across social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Instagram
- Stepping in to cover team members operationally as needed
What Bozzuto Is Looking For
A four-year degree or equivalent experience is expected, along with at least two years in property management, hospitality, or retail. Familiarity with rent collection processes, accounts receivable, and basic budget exposure matters here. Yardi experience is preferred. Social media fluency is a real requirement, not an afterthought, so candidates who have actually built and managed community-facing content will have an edge over those who simply list it as a skill.
What separates strong candidates from adequate ones in this specific role is the ability to shift registers quickly. One hour you're walking a prospective resident through the community and reading what matters to them. The next you're following up on a delinquency or reviewing a punch list with maintenance. AGMs who struggle tend to be strong on one side (leasing or operations) but not both. Bozzuto's culture places visible weight on professionalism and resident experience, so candidates who treat presentation and communication as optional will find the fit uncomfortable.
Bozzuto offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, 20 days of paid time off plus holidays, a 401k with company match, and tuition reimbursement. The company is also an active user of AI tools in its hiring process, so candidates can expect a tech-forward recruitment experience from the outset.
