Southfield, Michigan, United States
Leasing Consultant

Paragon Properties runs two communities in Southfield simultaneously under this role, which means the day-to-day operational picture is wider than a typical single-site assistant position. You're tracking leasing activity, resident satisfaction, and administrative accuracy across two addresses at once.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

The core of this role sits at the intersection of leasing and operations. You're fielding prospect calls and walk-ins, converting traffic into signed leases, and maintaining the sales standards Paragon sets for both phone and in-person performance. At the same time, you're processing applications, move-in paperwork, and renewals for manager review, so accuracy matters as much as personality. Vacant unit inspections, model readiness, and punch list awareness are part of keeping the communities presentable and competitive.

Resident retention gets real attention here too. Move-in follow-ups and work order check-ins are built into the job, not left to chance. You'll also contribute to outreach efforts, local employer marketing, and resident events, which means some of your best leasing work happens away from the leasing office.

What Paragon Is Looking For

  • At least one year in a customer service or sales role, with six or more months of on-site leasing experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with Yardi experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing regulations
  • Strong attention to detail, especially on lease paperwork and compliance
  • Industry designations (CAM, NALP, etc.) are a plus

The compensation runs up to $28.00 per hour depending on experience and property size, with quarterly bonus potential on top of the base. The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision with a short waiting period, company-paid life and disability insurance, a 401(k) with employer contribution, paid time off, paid holidays, and a rent discount.

Where This Role Can Take You

Assistant Community Manager is the most direct path to a Community Manager seat. Candidates who build strong T-3 and T-12 familiarity here, who understand how delinquency trends and occupancy fluctuations affect NOI, and who can eventually own a budget conversation will move up faster than those who treat the role as purely leasing. Paragon has a stated training and advancement program, so the infrastructure for that progression exists. The dual-community exposure accelerates it.

Pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical are required. Paragon Properties is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
