The lobby at a busy third-party management corporate office moves fast. A courier drops off a package, two calls come in at once, and someone from the executive team needs a report reformatted before the 10 a.m. meeting. That's a Tuesday morning here.

The Role

Asset Living, one of the larger third-party management firms in the country with a portfolio spanning multifamily, student housing, affordable housing, and build-to-rent, is hiring an Administrative Assistant for its corporate office in Houston. This is a front-desk-anchored position. You're the first voice callers hear and the first face visitors see, which means you set the tone for how the company presents itself day to day.

The work is varied and moves quickly. You'll manage incoming calls, route messages, greet visitors, handle mail and package logistics (UPS, FedEx, and the like), and keep fax and filing systems in order. Beyond that, you'll take on word processing, spreadsheet work, report formatting, and presentations as requested. The ability to manage several things at once without letting anything slip is genuinely important here, not a line buried in a job description.

What You'll Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Solid basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database entry
  • Comfort with office software and the ability to learn company-specific platforms
  • Clear, professional communication, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational habits and follow-through on tasks without being reminded

No travel is required. This is an onsite position.

One thing worth knowing: corporate office admin roles at large third-party management firms tend to expose you to a lot of the business quickly. You'll field calls from site teams, vendors, and ownership groups. You'll see how a company that manages thousands of units across multiple asset classes actually operates at the home office level. For someone who wants to grow into property operations, asset management coordination, or corporate support roles, there are worse places to start building that fluency.

Asset Living holds an AMO designation through IREM and has consistently ranked among the NMHC top 50. The company has grown significantly over the past decade, and the Houston corporate office reflects that scale.
