Location: Irvine, CA

Status: Full-time, Hourly

Wage: $85k to 90k + Benefits


Primary Objective of Position:

The Senior Asset Manager at Jamboree Housing Corporation plays a strategic role in overseeing the performance and long-term sustainability of the organization’s affordable housing portfolio. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Asset Management, this position ensures financial health, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across all assets. 

 

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Monitors fiscal performance of all communities including financial reviews, forecasting, audits, variance analysis and capital accounts. 
  • Oversees capital improvement planning and execution, including reserve withdrawal processing and disaster contingency planning.
  • Supports Project Development in conversion to permanent financing for new developments.
  • Coordinates with third-party property management companies and evaluates management contracts.
  • Mentors and supervises asset management staff and contributes to interdepartmental process improvement initiatives. 
  • Participates with projects to improve department and interdepartmental processes. 
  • Prepares and submits timely reports to investors, lenders, agencies, and corporate boards, as needed. 
  • Conducts site inspections and monitors physical conditions of properties. 
  • With support of the Compliance team, ensures and participates with compliance in governing documents, regulatory agreements, and investor/lender requirements. 
  • Assists in strategic planning for refinancing, re-syndication, and acquisition/disposition activities. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Level of Education, Experience and Skill Set:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Economics, or Minimum 5 years of experience in asset management, affordable housing, or related fields. 
  • Knowledge of tax credit compliance, HUD programs, and municipally financed multifamily projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and MRI software.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean DMV record, and ability to travel (30% including overnight stays). 
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills. 
  • Certifications such as TCS, HCCP, CHAM, or CPM preferred. 
  • Experience managing staff and mentoring junior team members. 

 

Physical Demands:

The Senior Asset Manager is required to talk and hear.  The employee is often required to sit and use their hands. Vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision.  Ability to, operate a computer keyboard, and lift files and reports.  Exposure to glare from a computer. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to lift 25 lbs and travel via automobile and/or plane 30%. Site visits may require extensive walking, standing, and the ability to go up stairs. 

 

Work Environment:

The work environment will usually be in a professional office setting, with possible shared workspace. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate.  When traveling the environment will change dependent upon the site visiting.
