Porter: Cleaning, Painting, & Landscaping

Porter roles at apartment communities tend to get undersold. The work is physical, varied, and genuinely visible. When the grounds look sharp and the common areas are clean, residents notice. When they're not, everyone notices. BAM Companies is hiring a Porter at their Rogers, Arkansas community, and the scope here is broader than a typical groundskeeping or cleaning position.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

This role covers four areas of work: painting, cleaning, landscaping, and basic maintenance support. On any given day, that might mean touching up paint in a vacated unit, blowing clippings off the parking lot, scrubbing down the pool deck, or helping prep an apartment to make-ready condition before a new resident moves in. Snow removal is part of the seasonal workload, and the clubhouse, hallways, and amenity spaces all fall under your regular rounds.

You'll also interact with current residents and prospective ones, sometimes while you're mid-task. That's just the reality of working on a lived-in property. Being approachable matters here, even when you're sweaty and carrying a pressure washer.

The physical demands are real. This position involves lifting over 75 pounds, working on your feet all day, and regular exposure to paint fumes, chemicals, and outdoor conditions. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
