Pool Attendant

Groundskeeper / Porter

Seasonal, outdoor, and genuinely straightforward. Pool attendant roles at apartment communities like Bexley Westshore exist because residents expect a clean, safe, well-managed amenity experience on their days off, and that doesn't happen without someone present and paying attention.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

You're the person on the pool deck during the hours it matters most: weekend afternoons and Friday evenings when resident traffic peaks. Your job is to make sure only authorized residents and their guests are using the pool, that the deck and bathrooms stay clean and trash-free, and that community rules get enforced calmly and consistently. You'll also help close down the area at the end of each shift.

Occasionally, you may walk through other amenity spaces like the gym or business center to do a quick spot check. Nothing complicated, but it does require someone who stays alert and doesn't need to be told twice to handle something they notice on their own.

The schedule is fixed and part-time: Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons, totaling around 20 hours per week. The role runs through September or October, with some flexibility if your schedule changes before then. This is a seasonal position. It's not designed to become full-time, and Weinstein Properties is upfront about that.

Who Fits This Role Well

  • Reliable. Residents count on amenities being properly staffed, and showing up consistently matters more than almost anything else here.
  • Comfortable working independently without a supervisor nearby at all times
  • Able to enforce rules with residents in a firm but non-confrontational way
  • Physically comfortable being outdoors for extended periods in warm weather
  • CPR or First Aid certified (a plus, not a requirement; this is not a lifeguard position)
  • Has reliable transportation to get to the property on time every shift

Pay runs $15 to $17 per hour. A background check is part of the process.

One Thing Worth Knowing

Enforcing pool rules is the part of this job that trips people up. Most residents are fine. Some aren't happy when told their guest count is over the limit or that the pool is closing. If you're the kind of person who can hold a boundary without making it a confrontation, you'll do well here. That skill, handling low-stakes but uncomfortable resident interactions, is something that transfers directly if you ever want to move into a leasing or assistant manager role at a residential community down the road.

Weinstein Properties manages a number of communities across the Southeast, so if you perform well and show genuine reliability, there's context for future opportunities within the company even if this specific role is seasonal.
