Leasing Consultant

Malbec Apartments sits in Englewood, just south of Denver proper, in a submarket that pulls a mix of young professionals and residents who want easy access to the light rail without paying full Denver prices. It's a competitive corridor. Prospects have options, and the leasing consultant who converts traffic into signed leases is the one who treats every tour like it matters, because it does.

MG Properties has been acquiring, developing, and managing apartment communities across the Western U.S. for over three decades. They're not a startup feeling their way around. They promote from within consistently, which means a part-time leasing role here can realistically become a full-time assistant manager position if you perform and show the right instincts.

This is a part-time role at Malbec, and the core of it is exactly what you'd expect: greeting prospects, qualifying applicants, preparing leases, coordinating with maintenance so move-ins don't turn into complaints on day one. But there's more texture to it than that. You're also the person residents call when something feels off, when rent is late and they want to explain, when a work order hasn't been addressed. That's where customer service and sales overlap with basic property operations, and handling both well is what separates a good leasing consultant from a forgettable one.

Keeping files accurate and data entered cleanly into the system might sound like back-office work, but sloppy records create real problems at renewal time and during audits. The administrative side of leasing is unglamorous and genuinely important.

What MG Properties is looking for

  • At least one year of property management experience, preferably in leasing
  • Strong sales instincts and the ability to read what a prospect actually needs
  • Professional communication, both written and in person
  • Comfort working in a team-oriented environment where processes matter
  • Reliability on the administrative side, accurate data entry, organized files

Pay runs $22 to $23 per hour, with monthly and quarterly bonuses on top of that. There's also company profit sharing and paid time off calculated on hours worked, which is a reasonable setup for a part-time position. The role is expected to be filled by May 2026.

One honest note: leasing work at a community this size means your weekends may not always be free. Prospects tour on Saturdays. Traffic doesn't follow a Monday-through-Friday schedule. If that's a dealbreaker, it's worth knowing upfront. If it's not, and you're someone who genuinely enjoys the rhythm of tours, applications, and move-ins, this is a solid foot in the door with a company that has the scale to grow you.
