Maintenance Technician

Apartment maintenance teams carry the day-to-day condition of a property. When service requests pile up, turns stall, or an HVAC unit fails on a hot weekend, the maintenance tech is the person who keeps everything from unraveling. MG Properties is filling that role at North Pointe Apartments in Vacaville, CA.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

This is a full-trades position. You're handling plumbing, electrical, appliance repairs, painting, and general upkeep across a community. Grounds and common areas need regular attention. Service requests come in daily and you're expected to close them out. Apartment turns are part of the cycle too: punch list work, make-ready prep, getting units back online for occupancy.

On-call rotation is part of the job. Emergency calls happen after hours. That's the honest reality of apartment maintenance, and it matters that you go in knowing it.

MG Properties has been operating across the Western U.S. for over 30 years, acquiring, developing, and managing multifamily communities. This isn't a startup figuring out its systems. There are processes in place.

What You Need to Bring

  • At least 2 years of apartment maintenance experience, ideally on a property of 200 units or more
  • Working knowledge across trades: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances
  • Reliable transportation (required, not optional)
  • Availability for on-call rotation
  • A customer service mindset. Residents notice how you communicate, not just how fast you fix things.

Pay runs $25 to $26 per hour depending on experience. The package includes monthly bonuses, company profit sharing, 401k with employer match, medical/dental/vision, PTO, paid holidays, and rental discounts.

What separates a strong candidate here isn't just technical range. It's the combination of trade skills and the ability to interact with residents professionally under pressure. Techs who treat every service request as a customer interaction, not just a task, tend to stand out on teams like this.
