Maintenance Technician

RedPeak has operated exclusively in Denver for over two decades. They own, operate, and develop their own communities, which means decisions move faster and accountability sits closer to the people doing the work. This Maintenance Technician II role sits at a 269-unit, single-building community on Colorado Boulevard, a corridor that sees real resident turnover and expects consistent upkeep at a level that matches the neighborhood.

The day-to-day here covers the full range: plumbing, electrical, drywall, appliance repair, HVAC, and painting. You'll run service requests from open to close, support the Service Supervisor on scheduling and vendor oversight, and hold your portion of the on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies. The building also expects you to manage security systems, including cameras, lock hardware, and key access for residents and vendors. That's a broader scope than a lot of tech II positions carry.

Preventative maintenance is part of the rhythm too. Daily grounds and interior inspections keep deficiencies from compounding, and accurate Yardi work order records keep the whole team aligned. At 269 units, volume matters. Busy periods can stack quickly, and the ability to triage efficiently without letting quality slip is what separates a strong tech from an average one.

RedPeak provides company-paid EPA and HVAC certifications, and they run an in-house advanced maintenance training center. For a tech who already holds some certifications and wants to build a more complete skill set, that's a concrete development path. Technicians who round out their HVAC, CPO, and electrical credentials often move into lead or Service Supervisor roles, where they're managing vendor relationships and influencing the maintenance budget alongside the property manager.

What the role requires

  • Intermediate working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • 1 to 2 years in multifamily maintenance, construction, or a comparable trade environment
  • Comfortable with Yardi or a similar work order platform
  • Ability to support Fire Life Safety systems and property security infrastructure
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license
  • HVAC/EPA, CPO, or trade certifications are preferred but not required at hire

Pay runs $22 to $26 per hour with bonus potential tied to maintenance performance. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with on-call rotation included. Benefits include full medical, dental, and vision, a 30% rent discount, 401(k) with immediate vesting, 16 PTO days, 13 paid holidays, and a student debt repayment program.
