Maintenance Technician

What You'll Actually Do

Eastgrove is a 650-plus unit community that Peak Management recently acquired in Dallas, and they need technicians who can hit the ground running on a property of that scale. Your day runs from work orders to unit turns, HVAC diagnostics to appliance troubleshooting, with the kind of volume that keeps a good tech genuinely busy. You'll carry on-call rotation responsibility, which means nights and weekends come with the territory. That's not a footnote. It's a real part of the job, and Peak pays an on-call premium to reflect it.

The technical range here matters. This role calls for HVAC competency, electronic troubleshooting, and general equipment maintenance across a large garden-style footprint. At 650-plus units, even a modest work order backlog requires someone who can prioritize efficiently, communicate with residents clearly, and close tickets at a pace that keeps occupancy from slipping.

What You Bring

  • Hands-on maintenance experience with HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and repair
  • Electronic troubleshooting skills and comfort with general equipment maintenance
  • Physical capability: sustained standing and walking, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in confined or awkward spaces across varied weather conditions
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Availability for on-call rotation
  • A low-drama, get-it-done approach to the work

The Package and the Context

Peak offers medical, dental, and life insurance, PTO (including your birthday), a sign-on bonus, and a 401(k) with employer matching. The on-call premium pay is a genuine differentiator since many operators don't separate that compensation out.

One thing worth knowing about a newly acquired property at this size: the first 12 to 18 months post-acquisition typically surface deferred maintenance that wasn't fully captured in due diligence. That means a skilled technician joining now will see more variety in the work than they might at a stabilized asset, which is either a selling point or a caution depending on what you're looking for. For a tech who wants to build skills fast, a lease-up or newly acquired community generates real-world experience at a compressed pace.
