Maintenance Technician - Berkeley Heights

The Skills This Role Runs On

This is a hands-on, multi-trade position. You'll draw on plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair on a rotating basis throughout your week. Pool and spa maintenance is also part of the regular workload, not a rare assignment. The job requires comfort moving between planned preventive maintenance tasks and unplanned service requests without losing pace on either.

Organizational skills matter here as much as trade skills. You'll track tool and supply inventory, document vacant unit status, and keep records current on MSDS sheets and safety compliance. CloudTen expects their techs to run a clean operation on paper, not just on the grounds.

What You're Actually Doing Day to Day

Resident service requests get resolved within 24 hours. Make-readies turn in 3 to 5 days. Those two benchmarks define a lot of your daily rhythm. In between, you're walking common areas, checking lighting and life-safety systems, maintaining curb appeal, and supporting move-in and move-out inspections.

On-call emergency coverage is part of the position. The schedule requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays. A valid driver's license is required since work across assigned properties involves regular travel.

• 1 to 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting
• Comfort using a mobile device and basic computer tools for work orders and communication
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
• Customer-facing communication skills, including handling difficult situations professionally
• Valid driver's license in good standing
