Community Manager

A resident steps off the elevator at 6 PM carrying dry cleaning and a pizza box, expecting the front desk to hold a package that arrived three hours ago. You already know the package is there. You hand it over before they ask. That's the job.

Action Property Management, one of the largest privately held HOA management companies in the western U.S., is hiring a full-time Lobby Ambassador for Century Plaza North Tower in Century City. This is an evening shift role: Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, paying $22.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Daily Responsibilities

You're the face of the building during the hours when most residents are actually home. The role covers front desk operations, access control, and lobby presentation. You'll log activity in a daily report, field incoming calls, receive and distribute resident parcels, and handle guest and visitor inquiries. Keeping the lobby, front desk area, and main elevators presentable is part of every shift, not just when someone's watching.

You'll also need a working understanding of the association's governing documents. Residents ask about rules, guest policies, and building procedures. You need to answer accurately, not guess.

What the Right Candidate Looks Like

  • At least one year of customer service experience, required
  • Background in hospitality, luxury retail, or fine dining is a real advantage here
  • Hospitality Management students or recent graduates are a strong fit
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, consistently
  • Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and proactive rather than reactive
  • Must be 18 or older and clear a pre-employment background check and drug screening

The candidate who stands out doesn't wait for a resident to flag a problem. They notice the lobby door isn't latching right, the package locker is nearly full, or a guest has been waiting longer than expected, and they handle it before it becomes a complaint. High-rise HOA environments attract residents with high expectations. Your instinct to anticipate needs, not just respond to them, is what separates good from excellent in this setting.
