What You'll Actually Do

This is an evening porter position covering common areas at a Comstock-managed office property in Reston, Virginia. The shift runs Monday through Friday, 6PM to 10PM, which means you're working after the building empties out. That's actually a real advantage: fewer interruptions, a clear checklist, and the satisfaction of leaving a space genuinely clean before the next workday starts.

Your daily work covers lobbies, restrooms, sidewalks, and public spaces. You'll follow cleaning schedules and checklists assigned by the Senior Operations Manager, track supply inventory, and keep the janitorial closet organized and hazard-free. Pressure washing is part of the rotation. When events happen at the property, you'll help with setup and breakdown. If something looks broken, unsafe, or damaged, you document it and report it. Simple accountability, consistently applied.

At the end of each shift, you complete the required documentation and hand off properly to whoever follows you. That handoff discipline matters more than most people realize. A missed note about a wet floor or a low supply stock creates problems for the next shift and reflects on the whole team.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with no major violations
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and stay on your feet for extended periods
• Flexibility to occasionally work weekends or outside your regular hours during high-traffic events
• Strong time management and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• A professional, courteous manner with property staff, tenants, and visitors
• Comfort working around cleaning chemicals and following safety protocols correctly
