Prometheus Real Estate Group runs a portfolio of purpose-built communities across the Bay Area, and the Leasing and Experience Manager role at Metropolitan and Chesapeake Brickline Flats in San Mateo sits at the intersection of leasing performance, resident satisfaction, and team leadership. This position carries real operational weight: you're responsible for occupancy, collections, concessions strategy, and the day-to-day output of the leasing team, all at once.
The title says "Experience Manager" and Prometheus means it. Resident relations here go beyond fielding complaints. You're building a community culture: planning events, following up on concerns, and owning the resident experience from move-in through renewal. On the leasing side, you're coaching the team to close, not just closing yourself. You'll track market conditions closely, contribute to pricing and concessions decisions, and help shape the marketing programs that drive traffic. Occupancy reporting and collections round out your daily ops load.
The supervisory piece is real. You set goals for the leasing team, run training, and track performance. If a Neighbor Ambassador is struggling with close rates, that's your problem to solve.
Weekend availability is required. The communities see their heaviest traffic on Saturdays and Sundays, so that's when the role demands your presence. Your days off fall during the week. Prometheus builds in vacation perks, including your birthday as a paid holiday, to offset the non-traditional schedule.
Prometheus looks for at least two years of leasing experience. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. The company hires across industries, so if your background includes strong customer service or sales experience outside of property management, that's considered.
Base pay runs $33.75 to $37.00 per hour, with a $200 incentive per lease signed and a discretionary semi-annual bonus. Weekend shifts carry a premium. Additional bonuses apply for referrals, training coaching, renovations, and lease-up performance. The company covers 100% of medical, vision, and dental premiums for eligible employees and dependents, with a 401(k) match and tenure-based housing discounts layered on top.
What separates strong candidates in this role is the ability to hold two modes simultaneously: the hospitality mindset that residents respond to, and the operational discipline to track delinquency, close a punch list on make-readies, and coach leasing staff toward occupancy goals in the same afternoon. The managers who thrive at Prometheus carry both without letting either slip.
