Leasing Consultant

Wendover Management runs a portfolio of affordable and workforce housing communities across the Southeast, and this Apopka-based role sits right at the intersection of leasing, resident relations, and community programming. It's a broader scope than a typical leasing consultant position, so if you've ever wanted your work to feel like more than just filling units, this one's worth a closer look.

What You'll Actually Do

The leasing side of this role covers the full cycle: tours, applications, documentation, follow-up, and renewal conversations. You'll track unit availability, assist with rent collection, and keep leasing records accurate. That's the foundation. But a meaningful portion of your week will go toward things that don't show up in a standard leasing job description.

You'll help plan and run resident events, manage the community activity calendar, and coordinate with local organizations to build genuine connections between residents and the broader neighborhood. You'll support social media content on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, which means translating what's happening at the property into content that actually attracts prospective residents. One of the more distinctive responsibilities here is coordinating The Wonder Kids Youth Club, an after-school program that requires activity planning, participant supervision, and a real commitment to creating a safe environment for young residents. If you've worked with youth programs before, that experience will serve you well. If you haven't, be honest with yourself about whether that's a fit before applying.

You'll also coordinate concierge services, handle vendor communication, and support the Community Manager and Assistant Manager across day-to-day administrative needs. This role is on-site, physically active, and includes weekend hours when leasing traffic or events call for it.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required, not preferred)
  • Background in property management, leasing, or residential customer service
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office, property management software, and social media platforms
  • Strong organizational habits and the ability to shift between tasks without losing track of details
  • Professional presence and communication skills across in-person, phone, and written channels
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and walk the property regularly
  • Reliable local transportation for occasional errands or marketing runs

Who Tends to Thrive Here

Candidates who do well in roles like this one usually have a genuine comfort with variety. On a given day you might be walking a prospective resident through a model unit in the morning, coordinating a vendor request before lunch, posting a community update to social media, and wrapping up by supporting an afternoon youth club session. People who need a tightly defined lane tend to find that exhausting. People who get energy from switching context and seeing immediate impact on the people around them tend to find it rewarding.

The bilingual requirement reflects the real demographics of the community you'd be serving. Residents who speak Spanish as a primary language aren't a niche population here. Your ability to communicate with them directly, without a workaround, shapes their experience in ways that matter. That's worth stating plainly because it's not a checkbox. It's a daily functional need.

Compensation includes a competitive base plus performance-based bonuses. This is an on-site, full-time position in Apopka, Florida.
