Grounds Specialist - Botanic Miramar Beach ~ Destin, FL
Davis DevelopmentBeachside luxury communities like Botanic Miramar Beach carry a visual standard that residents pay a premium to live inside. A single neglected breezeway or a cloudy pool can undercut everything the leasing team works to sell. The Grounds Specialist role exists to make sure that never happens.
This is a daily-presence, eyes-on-the-property position at Davis Development's Destin community. You're walking the grounds throughout each shift, pulling litter, debris, and pet waste from breezeways, pool decks, and common areas before residents notice them. Trash and recyclables get handled on schedule. Pool chemistry gets checked and logged every day, with a full vacuum cycle weekly. Grills get cleaned and their timers and knobs inspected regularly to keep things safe. You'll also pitch in on general labor tasks supporting the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager as needs come up.
Davis Development operates as an owner-operator from the inside out. Their on-site teams aren't executing orders from a distant regional office; they're making real decisions daily. For a grounds role, that means your judgment about what the property needs matters. You notice the things others walk past.
What You Bring
- At least one year of general labor experience; multifamily background is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred
- Comfortable with hand tools, cleaning equipment, and related supplies
- Able to lift approximately 50 lbs regularly
- Strong time management and communication skills across all channels
- Availability to work over 40 hours per week when the property needs it
What Davis Development Offers
Benefits begin on the first of the month after 30 days of employment and include medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health coverage. The 401(k) plan includes a 4% employer match that vests immediately. Company-paid life insurance at one times base salary, a PTO package with carryover, a company apparel store allowance, and ongoing training and career development round out the package.
One practical note for candidates: Destin's Gulf Coast climate means this role runs outdoors year-round, through humid summers and variable winters. Pace and physical stamina matter here more than they might at an inland Class B community. CPO certification, even if you don't have it yet, is worth pursuing early. Pool compliance is taken seriously at luxury communities, and holding that credential opens up maintenance career paths that pure groundskeeping doesn't.
