FT Residential Portern (Mon-Fri 7am-3pm and Sun 7am-12pm)

Residential porters are the backbone of first impressions at multifamily properties. Residents and guests form opinions about a building within seconds of walking through the lobby or past the entrance. This role at Comstock's Rockville, MD property keeps those spaces consistently clean and presentable, five days a week plus Sunday mornings.

The schedule is set: Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm, plus Sunday 7am to noon. If you need predictable hours and prefer to be done before mid-afternoon, this structure works in your favor.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

Most of your time goes toward common areas: lobbies, sidewalks, restrooms, and public spaces. Daily cleaning rounds, trash removal, pressure washing, and window cleaning make up the core of the shift. You'll follow checklists assigned by the Senior Operations Manager, track supply inventory, and document anything that needs management attention, whether that's a safety hazard, equipment issue, or damage you spot during your rounds.

Event support is part of the job. When the property hosts gatherings, you help with setup and breakdown, and you stay available for after-hours or weekend coverage during peak periods. End-of-shift documentation and a clean handoff to the next shift are expected every day.

You'll work in uniform, arrive before your shift starts, and interact professionally with residents, guests, and staff throughout the day. This is a customer-facing role as much as a cleaning role.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with no major violations
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle physical demands: prolonged standing, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs
• Comfort working in variable conditions, including outdoor elements, chemicals, and temperature extremes
• Flexibility for after-hours or event-related coverage beyond the standard schedule
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized across multiple tasks during a shift
• Genuine comfort interacting with a diverse mix of residents and visitors throughout the day
