The Community Manager role exists because someone has to be accountable for everything. Leasing numbers, team morale, delinquency, curb appeal, owner relationships, resident complaints at 9 PM on a Saturday. That's not a criticism of the position. What the Job Actually Covers

This is a full-scope community management role. You're responsible for financial performance, which means reading your T-12, managing to budget, and understanding where NOI pressure is coming from. You're also responsible for occupancy, which means staying close to traffic, conversion rates, renewal strategy, and pricing. Yardi and Knock are the platforms in use here, so familiarity with both matters.

On any given week, you might be reviewing delinquency reports in the morning, conducting a property inspection at midday, jumping on a leasing tour in the afternoon, and wrapping up with a team check-in. The maintenance relationship is yours to manage too. Work order completion, vendor coordination, make-ready timelines. All of it flows through your desk.

  • Two years of property management experience required, including time as a Leasing Consultant and Assistant Community Manager
  • Six months of direct Community Manager experience is highly preferred
  • Yardi, Knock, and Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
  • CAM, CAPS, real estate or property management license preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • High school diploma or GED required

The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 9 to 6, and Saturdays, 10 to 4, with one weekday off to maintain a 40-hour week. Resident events and community needs can push into evenings occasionally. That's standard for the role.

The managers who struggle in roles like this are usually strong on one side of the job and weak on the other.
