Assistant Property Manager

Lincoln Property Company runs one of the larger third-party commercial management platforms in the country, and this Assistant Property Manager role sits inside that machine at the property level in Dallas. At a firm managing north of 720 million square feet across office, retail, industrial, and beyond, the APM position is where you learn how institutional-grade management actually gets executed day to day.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

A good chunk of this role lives in the financial and administrative layer of commercial property management. You'll support the Property Manager on monthly reporting packages, help draft CAM reconciliations in coordination with accounting, and review vendor invoices against the management agreement and authorization thresholds. Lease administration is a real part of this job too: setting up leases in the system, processing changes, and keeping reporting accurate across platforms. On the operational side, you'll coordinate tenant move-ins and move-outs, participate in walk-throughs, and help maintain vendor relationships through bidding and procurement support. This position is 100% in-office and includes regular property inspections and travel to assigned sites.

Lincoln is also clear that this role carries some supervisory responsibility. If you have direct reports, you're expected to give real direction and manage performance, not just pass along tasks from above.

What Lincoln Is Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience; 1-2 years of relevant commercial property management experience
  • Comfortable with AP systems and CMMS platforms
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work through financial calculations: percentages, proration, basic analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication, particularly with tenants and ownership
  • Organized enough to keep reporting deadlines and lease administration tasks from piling up
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now or in the future

Where This Role Tends to Lead

The APM seat at a firm like Lincoln is a known path to Property Manager. CAM rec experience, vendor management, and ownership reporting are the core skills that hiring managers look for when promoting into full PM responsibilities on commercial assets. Candidates who distinguish themselves here usually have two things in common: they understand the financials well enough to catch errors before the PM does, and they can handle tenant communication without escalating every issue. Institutional clients expect clean reporting and low friction. If you can deliver both, this role builds a resume that opens doors across commercial property types.

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with traditional and Roth options, flexible time off, paid sick leave, and company-paid life insurance and long-term disability.
