Assistant Property Manager

It's a Tuesday morning at Bexley Westshore and you're already juggling three things at once: a prospect waiting for a tour, a resident at the counter asking about her renewal, and a maintenance follow-up that needs a callback before noon. That's a normal day in this role, and the right person finds that kind of pace energizing rather than draining.

The Role at Bexley Westshore

Weinstein Properties has been family-owned and operated for more than 70 years, with a portfolio of over 60 apartment communities across Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. Bexley Westshore in Cumming, GA is one of those communities, and this Assistant Property Manager position sits at the center of its daily operations.

The work covers the full resident lifecycle. On the leasing side, you'll respond to internet leads, take calls, schedule and conduct tours, process applications, prepare lease paperwork, and collect deposits. Once a resident moves in, your involvement continues through renewals, transfers, pet addendums, early terminations, and move-outs, including security deposit dispositions. You'll post rent payments and follow up on outstanding balances. You'll also coordinate with the maintenance team, walking units to confirm make-ready quality and following up with residents on open work orders. Resident events are part of the job too, from planning through execution.

Leadership experience is required here. Weinstein isn't looking for someone to shadow the Property Manager indefinitely. You'll help train team members, contribute to hitting property goals, and step into a genuine support role at the management level. Prior property management experience is a plus, but candidates from hospitality, sales, or customer-facing management roles are considered seriously if the leadership foundation is there. Weinstein provides structured training and coaching to fill in the property management specifics.

The schedule runs weekdays 9 to 6, Saturdays 9 to 5 on a team rotation, with Sundays closed. Starting pay is $23 per hour, increasing with experience, plus quarterly bonuses. Benefits include health, dental and vision coverage, a 401k with company match, paid holidays, birthday time off, vacation and sick time, a rent discount, and an Employee Assistance Program.

What Strong Candidates Bring

Cumming sits in Forsyth County, one of the fastest-growing counties in Georgia, which means leasing traffic tends to stay active and resident turnover creates real operational pressure. The candidates who perform well here aren't just friendly. They manage competing priorities without dropping details, communicate clearly when conversations get difficult, and take ownership of tasks without waiting to be asked twice.

  • Demonstrated leadership or management experience in a customer-facing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to handle sensitive resident conversations professionally
  • Comfort with leasing activity: tours, applications, and closing
  • Attention to detail when walking units, reviewing lease files, or processing account transactions
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside standard hours for resident events or weather-related situations

For someone earlier in their property management career, this role builds a skill set that transfers directly into a Property Manager position. Weinstein promotes from within, and many of their current leaders started in leasing or assistant roles on-site.
