Assistant Property Manager

What You'll Actually Do

This role sits between leasing and operations. You'll spend a meaningful chunk of your day on the financial side: collecting rent, making sure deposits hit before bank close, tracking delinquency, and keeping resident ledgers accurate inside RealPage/Onesite. When a resident disputes a charge or a move-out balance needs to be settled, that falls to you.

You'll also step into the leasing rotation when traffic picks up or the team needs coverage. That means showing units, following up on prospects, and inspecting make-readies before a new resident gets the keys. If something's off on the punch list, you catch it before move-in, not after.

When the Property Manager is out, you run the property. That's not an occasional thing to prepare for. It's part of the job, and Olympus expects you to handle it without hand-holding.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 to 6, with some flexibility required for resident events and the first weekend of each month.

What You Bring

  • At least 3 years of assistant manager experience, preferably at a larger apartment community
  • Hands-on experience with RealPage, Onesite, or Knock (strongly preferred)
  • Comfort handling collections, deposits, and financial recordkeeping accurately and on deadline
  • Ability to manage resident concerns directly, including complaints, without escalating everything upstream
  • Awareness of the local submarket: new construction, hiring trends, competing properties, anything that could affect occupancy or income
  • A detail-oriented work style that holds up under a full daily workload

The Role in Context

Monte Viejo is an Olympus Property community in Phoenix. Olympus has earned National Apartment Association Top Employer recognition three years running, and their culture emphasis is genuine rather than decorative. The pay range starts at $25 to $27 per hour depending on experience, and the position includes monthly renewal incentives and quarterly bonuses on top of base pay. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, tuition reimbursement, and an apartment rental allowance.

For candidates who want a clear growth path: assistant managers who consistently handle financial operations and step into the property manager role during absences are typically first in line when a Business Manager position opens. If running your own property is the goal, this is the direct route there within Olympus's structure.
